Out of the recipients, 20 are active personnel, while the rest are retired.
A senior official from the BSF’s Eastern Command noted that these medals acknowledge the dedicated service rendered by BSF personnel, who serve as the first line of defense along the nation's borders.
“The BSF troops carry out their responsibilities 24/7 throughout the year, facing challenging terrains and variable weather conditions. In light of the current situation in Bangladesh, they remain on high alert along the Indo-Bangladesh Border, which includes riverine and unfenced areas. Such accolades motivate them to continue their duties with renewed enthusiasm,” remarked the BSF official.
During his address, the Governor praised the strategic knowledge, advancements in infrastructure, weaponry, and training programs of the Force.
He further recognized the crucial role played by BSF personnel in securing the nation’s borders, countering anti-national threats, and their outstanding contributions to the country’s safety.

“This medal is bestowed upon personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and state police forces who exhibit remarkable dedication, integrity, and exceptional service in their duties,” stated the senior BSF official.
He added that this honor is granted only after a thorough and detailed assessment by a prestigious high-level committee.
Proud family members, BSF officers, subordinate officers, and retired personnel gathered in large numbers at the venue, along with dignitaries and awardees.
