Srinagar, Dec 1 (NationPress) The Border Security Force (BSF) declared on Monday that the white collar terror module represents the most significant challenge security forces have encountered. However, they are confident in overcoming it through effective collaboration among various agencies.

Inspector General of BSF (Kashmir Frontier), Ashok Yadav, responded to an inquiry from IANS, stating that although the white collar terror module poses a substantial challenge, the security forces are prepared to address it by working in harmony.

In response to another question, the senior BSF official noted that following recent damages, terrorists have relocated their launching sites.

On the occasion of its 61st Raising Day, the BSF provided a comprehensive report during its annual press conference held at Humhama in Budgam district.

The report highlighted that BSF units have been instrumental in safeguarding critical installations of national significance and ensuring the safety of the people in Kashmir, in close collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, allied agencies, and local communities. Certain BSF units are also stationed in North Kashmir, focusing on anti-infiltration operations in the Baramulla and Handwara districts, where they have effectively dominated their assigned areas, facilitating secure passage for security convoys and civilians alike.

Despite facing numerous obstacles, such as harsh weather, difficult terrain, and ongoing threats from Pakistan's Border Action Team, sniping, ceasefire violations, and Fidayeen attacks, courageous BSF personnel remain steadfast in their duty to secure the Line of Control (LoC), working alongside the Army with utmost zeal and commitment.

A key accomplishment for the BSF during 2025-26 was Operation 'Sindoor', the initial phase of which took place from May 6 to 10, 2025. In collaboration with the Indian Army, BSF units effectively executed fire assaults on Pakistani positions and terrorist launching sites along the LoC, showcasing a robust, precise, and professional response.

During Operation Sindoor, the BSF and Army effectively managed the LoC, resulting in the neutralization of eight terrorists within four infiltration attempts throughout 2025. Additionally, the BSF conducted 22 joint operations with the Indian Army/Rashtriya Rifles (RR)/Jammu and Kashmir Police/CRPF along the LoC and in the hinterland, neutralizing several terrorists in North Kashmir and recovering a substantial cache of war-like materials, including AK-47 rifles, MP-5 rifles, pistols, hand grenades, under-barrel grenade launchers (UBGL), UBGL grenades, Chinese grenades, Milkor Multi-Grenade Launchers, and various ammunition types. The 'G Branch' of the BSF has also played a crucial role in providing vital operational intelligence regarding the movements and activities of terrorist factions.

According to the statement, the G unit is closely monitoring all 69 active launching pads along the LoC, where approximately 100-120 terrorists are poised to infiltrate. Furthermore, numerous terrorist training camps are also under the vigilance of our Intelligence division.

In the wake of the tragic Pahalgam attack on tourists, specially trained BSF Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Terrorism (CI/CT) teams have been deployed in the Gulmarg Bowl to ensure the safety of the tourist destination, working alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police. These CI/CT teams have been performing their duties with professionalism and effectiveness, creating a secure environment for visiting tourists.

During 'Operation Mahadev', BSF units and specialized frontier CI/CT teams, in collaboration with Gandarbal SOG/CRPF/RR, effectively dominated the higher ridges of the Northern flank of the Mahadev ranges, establishing temporary operating bases and playing a crucial role in obstructing potential terrorist routes from the Mahadev ranges towards Gandarbal and Bandipore.

The collaborative operations ultimately led to the neutralization of a terrorist group on July 28, 2025, as outlined in the statement.
