New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has reaffirmed its commitment to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Ayurveda through its startup incubation facility, the Incubation Centre for Ayurveda Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AIIA-iCAINE), as stated by the Ministry of Ayush.
Through AIIA-iCAINE, the Institute backs modern ventures that deliver evidence-based, sustainable, and inclusive health solutions.
“AIIA-iCAINE empowers innovators by offering a structured platform to convert ideas into impactful businesses,” the Ministry noted.
The Institute successfully hosted an awareness program focused on MSME opportunities for Ayurveda-centered startups in celebration of National Startup Day 2026 on Friday.
This initiative was carried out in partnership with the MSME–Development and Facilitation Office in the national capital.
“The event reinforced AIIA-iCAINE’s dedication to fostering a strong, innovation-oriented startup ecosystem grounded in Ayurveda, aligned with national objectives for entrepreneurship, MSME development, and sustainable healthcare solutions,” the Ministry added.
It convened policymakers, academic leaders, startup promoters, and aspiring entrepreneurs to discuss ways to enhance the MSME and startup landscape, focusing particularly on Ayurvedic and integrative health innovations.
“The discussions emphasized government support programs, institutional frameworks for innovation, intellectual property protection, certification and standardization requirements, and financial resources vital for early-stage startups,” the Ministry pointed out.
During the gathering, Dr. Arun Kumar discussed innovation-driven entrepreneurship in Ayurveda, while Sunil Kumar, Deputy Director of MSME, provided insights into MSME initiatives and government programs tailored for Ayurveda-based businesses.
Prof. Manjusha Rajagopala presented an academic and institutional viewpoint on promoting innovation and entrepreneurship within Ayurveda institutions.
Dr. R K Bharti, Joint Director of MSME, underscored the necessity for a robust policy-supported ecosystem to foster startups and MSMEs, particularly in the traditional medicine and wellness sectors.
The technical segments featured expert insights from Sangeeta Nagar, a former Senior Scientist at DPIIT, regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their significance for startups, along with Jyoti Neeraj, Senior Manager at SIDBI, who elaborated on financial support options and funding avenues available for startups and MSMEs.
