New Delhi, Feb 25 (NationPress) The Ministry of Ayush has awarded the esteemed ‘National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards’ for this year to three prominent practitioners for their remarkable contributions to the realm of traditional Indian medicine.
This year’s honorees include Vaidya Tara Chand Sharma, a celebrated Nadi Vaidya and author; Vaidya Maya Ram Uniyal, an eminent expert in Dravyaguna Vigyana with over sixty years of service; and Vaidya Sameer Govind Jamadagni, the founder of the Vishwa Vyakhyanmala national conference.
Each awardee received a citation, a trophy depicting the Statue of Lord Dhanwantari, and a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, as reported by the ministry.
The National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards symbolize India's dedication to enhancing holistic healthcare while safeguarding traditional medical knowledge.
“These awards demonstrate India's significant contribution to global healthcare. As per Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, over the years, these practitioners have advanced Ayurveda practices while preserving their authentic essence through extensive research and innovation.
“Their contributions illustrate how traditional knowledge can be adapted to meet modern health challenges,” he remarked.
Vaidya Tara Chand Sharma, famed for his expertise as a Nadi Vaidya, has also made his mark as a wise author.
Equally inspiring is the story of Vaidya Maya Ram Uniyal from Uttar Pradesh, a visionary in Dravyuguna Vigyana. With more than sixty years of relentless dedication, his extensive writings and exemplary administration have motivated many.
Joining this illustrious group is Vaidya Sameer Govind Jamadagni, whose contributions span over forty years. As the founder of the Vishwa Vyakhyanmala national conference and Vishwa Ayurveda Prabodhini, he has created platforms that have revolutionized Ayurveda education.
Over time, these awards have become a symbol of national pride, celebrating those who have expanded Ayurveda from local roots to international influence.
