The 29-year-old from Kapurthala is the only Indian professional golfer to secure a win every year since turning pro in 2015, making her a formidable competitor alongside her close friend, Vani Kapoor, who has claimed three titles this season.

Vani has emerged as the most successful player in Indian domestic golf in recent years, with around 30 victories, despite often missing events due to international commitments.

This season, both Vani and Amandeep have prioritized the domestic tour, although they may soon venture to Europe. Amandeep had the option to compete in Spain this week but opted to refine her skills before returning to Europe. Currently, Vani Kapoor leads the Hero Order of Merit.

Notable players like Hitaashee Bakshi and Sneha Singh are also participating in the Ladies European Tour this week.

Other top contenders aiming for victory include Ridhima Dilawari, Gaurika Bishnoi, Neha Tripathi, Vidhatri Urs, and Seher Atwal.

This week’s field consists of 38 players, including six amateurs. Among them are Zara Anand, Saanvi Somu, Ceerat Kang, and Keerthana Rajeev, all of whom have represented India.

In the ongoing season, of the seven legs completed so far, Vani has triumphed three times, while Sneha Singh has two wins, and both Rhea Purvi and Amandeep have claimed one each.

Last week, Amandeep emerged victorious in the seventh leg of the WPGT at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club in Mysuru, where she recorded a third consecutive round of 1-over 71, winning the title almost 15 months after her last win in March 2024.

Amandeep’s scores of 71-71-71 for a total of 3-over 213 granted her a two-shot victory over Ridhima Dilawari, who managed a 1-under 69 but fell short at JWGC. Ridhima’s score was one of the few under-par rounds during a week marked by rain and challenging scoring conditions.
