Panchkula, March 3 (NationPress) Assam Hockey secured a 2-1 victory against Hockey Association of Bihar on the third day of Division B during the 15th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship held at the Tau Devi Lal Hockey Stadium.

After a fiercely contested first quarter, Assam Hockey broke the stalemate just before half-time when captain Munmuni Das (29’) converted a penalty corner to give her team the lead. The victorious side maintained a solid defense, keeping their narrow advantage throughout the third quarter.

As the match approached its conclusion, the game opened up once again when Khushboo Prajapati (59’) scored another penalty corner for Assam Hockey. Almost immediately, Hockey Association of Bihar managed to pull one back with a consolation goal from Nusrat Khatoon. With this win, Assam Hockey has begun their campaign positively, while Hockey Association of Bihar continues to face challenges.

In another Division C match on Sunday, Hockey Andhra Pradesh achieved a 4-2 victory over Hockey Jammu and Kashmir in their Pool B clash.
