Jhansi, April 4 (NationPress) Hockey Rajasthan, Hockey Arunachal, Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Himachal, Hockey Chandigarh, and Goans Hockey could not have imagined a more perfect kickoff as they launched their campaigns by claiming victories in their respective matches at the 15th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2025, held here in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

In the opening match of the day, Hockey Rajasthan triumphed over Tripura Hockey with a score of 9-1 in Division ‘C’. Vishal Kumar (51’, 57’, 60, 60+) emerged as the top scorer with four goals. Vikram Singh Rathore (6’, 38’) and Anurag (9’, 56’) each netted two goals, while Pulkit (1’) added another to widen the gap against Tripura Hockey. Sourabh Boora (30+) managed to score the lone goal for Hockey Tripura.

In the subsequent match, Hockey Arunachal defeated Hockey Jammu & Kashmir with a score of 5-0 in Division ‘C’. Neeraj (27’, 43’) scored two goals, while Brijesh Yadav (8’), Jay Prakash Patel (20’), and Sahabaz Khan (56’) each contributed one goal to secure the victory.

In another game, Chhattisgarh Hockey outplayed Hockey Gujarat with a dominating score of 10-0. Koothanda Changappa (13’, 56’), Arjun Yadav (32’, 51’), Sonu Nishad (41’, 57’), and Shailendra Verma (48’, 50’) scored two goals each. Kartik Yadav (22’) and Ganesh Yadav (37’) also found the back of the net to extend the lead against Hockey Gujarat.

Hockey Himachal defeated Hockey Association of Bihar with a scoreline of 6-2 in Division ‘C’. Harsh (19’, 27’, 47’) scored a hattrick, supported by Amit Kumar (36’, 59’) who added two goals, and Pandia Rajan S (14’) who scored once. Jony Kumar (3’) and Md. Danish (58’) scored for Hockey Association of Bihar.

In the fifth match, Hockey Chandigarh celebrated a significant victory against Hockey Andhra Pradesh with a score of 13-1. Gurmukh Singh (8’, 9’, 17’, 33’, 40’) scored five goals, while Mohit (11’, 12’, 25’, 30’) contributed four goals. Deepak (15’, 19’) scored two, and Amandeep (49’) and Dilip Pal (55’) each scored once. Venu Gorrela Gopal (45’) managed to score the only goal for Hockey Andhra Pradesh.

In another match, Goans Hockey emerged victorious over Hockey Uttarakhand with a score of 3-0. Thrishul Ganapathi H (17') opened the scoring, followed by Swapnil Haldankar (27') and Issub Sayed (50') who each added a goal to secure the win.

Later today, Delhi Hockey will compete against Kerala Hockey, while Hockey Mizoram will face Assam Hockey.
