Goa, April 16 (NationPress) The RAIA Sports Ground was the site of the spectacular finale for the Dream Sports Championship Football 2025 National Finals. In this thrilling tournament, Jharkhand FA emerged as champions in the girls' category, while Punjab FC successfully defended their title in the boys' category.

The Girls' National Finals showcased an exciting match between Jharkhand FA and Odisha FA, resulting in a hard-fought 1-0 victory for Jharkhand. Anamika Sanga was the standout player for Jharkhand, netting the decisive goal in the 20th minute. Despite relentless attempts from Odisha to equalize, Jharkhand's defense, spearheaded by skipper Chandani Kumari, held strong until the final whistle.

"Winning the championship was vital for our team. Our strategy to maintain possession helped protect our slim lead," expressed Chandani after the match.

She further noted about the DSC, "The organization was top-notch—from the venue setup to the facilities provided. The competitive atmosphere truly motivated us to perform at our best. This event has given young footballers like us a chance to showcase our skills and aspire to represent India—a dream wholeheartedly supported by my family."

On the other hand, the Boys' National Finals featured Punjab FC retaining their championship title with a decisive 2-0 win over Mohun Bagan Super Giant. PFC took an early lead thanks to Subham Gurung, who scored in the 10th minute, and doubled their lead in the second half with a goal from Ashish Lohar in the 64th minute, effectively sealing the championship.

"Our team was unbeaten throughout the tournament, which showcases how our months of hard training and preparation have been fruitful. This competition has been crucial for our growth, allowing us to face tough opponents, including international teams like Norwich City FC.

"It serves as an excellent platform for nurturing young talent, and the commitment to youth development from the organization is truly commendable. Retaining the trophy reflects the strong foundation of our academy and the spirit of teamwork—proof that our unity was essential to our success," stated Aniket Yadav, the skipper of Punjab FC.

The event was honored by notable guests, including Indian football legends Subrata Paul and Bhaichung Bhutia, along with Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, IT, E&C and Printing and Stationery; Mauvin Godinho, Minister of Transport; Digambar Kamat, Margao MLA and former Chief Minister of Goa; Varsha Sharma, IPS, DIG, Goa Police; and Caitano Fernandes, president of Goa Football Association.
