Muthappa and Mishra Face Off in 123rd All India Amateur Golf Championship Final

Chandigarh, Dec 14 (NationPress) Varun Muthappa of Karnataka is prepared to challenge Anshul Mishra in the final of the IGU 123rd All-India Amateur Golf Championship at the Chandigarh Golf Club. The two talented golfers earned their places in this storied championship by prevailing in tightly contested matches.
Muthappa triumphed over Ayaan Gupta on the 19th hole after both competitors were tied at the conclusion of 18 holes. In the other semifinal, Anshul Mishra secured victory against Anant Ahlawat on the 18th hole. Muthappa entered the tournament as the eighth seed, while Mishra was the 15th seed, setting the stage for their 36-hole final showdown.
During the semifinals, Muthappa was 1-up against Gupta after three and nine holes, but they were all square after thirteen. Muthappa fell 1-down after fifteen but restored parity after the eighteenth. Ultimately, Muthappa clinched the match on the 19th hole.
In the second semifinal, Mishra and Ahlawat saw Mishra begin 1 down. They were all square after the eighth and twelfth holes, but Ahlawat managed to go 1-up after thirteen. Following an all-square situation at the 16th hole, Mishra emerged victorious on the 18th hole.
A total of 32 players advanced from the stroke play phase to the match play segment. After the initial round, the field was narrowed down to 16 players in the pre-quarterfinals of this prestigious tournament.
