New Delhi, April 23 (NationPress) Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Bajrang Punia has voiced his sorrow regarding the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, emphasizing that those who ventured there seeking tranquility tragically fell victim to mindless and brutal violence.
On Tuesday, assailants opened fire on tourists in the Baisaran Valley, a picturesque meadow in Pahalgam, located approximately 30 miles southeast of Srinagar. This heinous act resulted in the loss of at least 26 lives and left numerous others injured.
"The terrorist assault on tourists in the Pahalgam area of the Kashmir Valley has deeply disturbed the entire nation. Those who sought inner peace were met with such violent acts. May God provide solace to the souls of the departed and grant strength to their families during this immense grief," Punia expressed on X.
Dronacharya award-winning chess coach, Ramesh RB, also condemned the horrific act in a detailed post. "They did not inquire about your ideology (ironically, the typical pro-terror left would also have faced the same fate but are too oblivious to this), nor did they ask about your political views, citizenship, caste, state of origin, wealth, or skin color. Their only intent was to confirm one thing before taking your life.
"To my fellow brothers and sisters, it is time to cast aside our minor differences and unite as one force. Parents, educate your children about today’s events and the underlying reasons before schools and media distort the truth. Reveal to them the unfiltered reality of what happened, who was responsible, and why.
"Lastly, if you find yourself in such a scenario, do not venture alone; if that is not feasible, boldly chant Har Har Mahadev, Jai Shri Ram, or the Gayathri mantra. Stand firm; do not yield or plead," he shared on X.
In a prior post, Ramesh stated, "The response to the attack in Pahalgam must be overwhelmingly severe, and it will be. Om shanti to the victims. We must never forget this event. We should cease all water-sharing agreements permanently, halt trade and sports, reclaim our land back to Bharath, liberate Balochistan, and completely dismantle terror facilitators (army and ISI)."
The Pakistan-based terrorist group, The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for this attack, marking one of the most devastating incidents in the region in recent years.
