Saurabh Chaudhary and Varun Tomar Compete in Air Pistol Finals at National Shooting Championship

New Delhi, Jan 4 (NationPress) Former world No.1 Saurabh Chaudhary, who represents the Railways, and Varun Tomar, a multiple international medallist from the Army, are part of the final eight contenders for the Men’s 10m Air Pistol national title in the 67th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) for Pistol events taking place at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range this Sunday.

During the qualification rounds, no one was able to surpass Saurabh’s national record of 591, which he achieved just days ago. Varun scored 585, securing the third position among nearly 1339 shooters who completed their qualifying rounds. The Army marksman was one of three, along with teammate Pradhyumn Singh and Haryana’s Parmod, to qualify for both senior and junior finals.

The men's final will feature three Army shooters competing alongside Saurabh, in addition to Parmod, Mayank Choudhary, and Aakash Bhardwaj from Rajasthan. Gagandeep from Punjab, with a score of 582, will be the only shooter from his state to qualify for the finals.
