Ahmedabad, Dec 5 (NationPress) The Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah officially launched the 'Swadeshotsav 2025', a national expo organized by the Swarnim Jagran Manch and Swarnim Bharat Varsh Foundation, at the Gujarat University Ground in Navarangpura, Ahmedabad.
This event resonates with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of establishing an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) by highlighting indigenous industries, knowledge, and cultural heritage.
Among the notable attendees were Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, who graced the inauguration ceremony.
Post-inauguration, Minister Shah unveiled the Swanubhuti Exhibition, which highlights India's 'swadeshi' (indigenous) capabilities across various sectors.
The five-day expo, scheduled from December 5 to 9, 2025, will include a variety of thematic seminars aimed at enhancing awareness, innovation, and national self-sufficiency.
Day one features the Environment Resolution Summit.
On December 6, the agenda includes discussions on Startup Udaan 2025 and the Swadeshi Sankalp Abhiyan.
December 7 will focus on the empowerment of women ('Matrushakti') and cybersecurity awareness.
Sessions on Ayurveda and Wellness, as well as Intellectual Property Rights, are slated for December 8, concluding with discussions on natural and organic farming on December 9.
The festival will feature cultural programs daily from 7 to 10 p.m., providing visitors with a rich mix of knowledge, art, and vibrant swadeshi expressions.
Hosted at the expansive grounds of Gujarat University, the event seeks to promote learning, creativity, and indigenous products, attracting scholars, innovators, entrepreneurs, and the general public.
Officials from the Swarnim Jagran Manch were also in attendance.
In a related event, Minister Amit Shah, alongside Chief Minister Patel, inaugurated the two-day Arth Summit 2025-26 at Mahatma Mandir on the same day.
This summit, co-organized by NABARD and the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), featured a grand expo that the dignitaries inaugurated before exploring various stalls.
While addressing the audience, Minister Shah emphasized that the three-part Arth Summit series aims to transform India's rural economy into a robust pillar of the national economy.
He noted that the second edition of the summit is taking place in Gujarat, the land of Mahatma Gandhi, who emphasized that India's progress is incomplete without uplifting its rural core.
Minister Shah pointed out that agriculture, animal husbandry, and cooperation—the three pillars of rural development—were overlooked for decades post-Independence.
Since 2014, under Prime Minister Modi's guidance, these sectors have experienced revitalization.
To enhance them further, the combined budget for the Ministries of Rural Development, Agriculture, and Cooperation has surged threefold—from Rs 1.02 lakh crore in 2014 to over Rs 3.15 lakh crore in 2025-26.
