Andhra: TDP Achieves Membership Milestone of 73 Lakh

Amaravati, Dec 14 (NationPress) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) reported on Saturday that it has achieved a significant milestone in party membership, with the total membership now standing at 73 lakh.

During a meeting focused on the membership initiative at the party's headquarters, TDP leader and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu commended the party officials and members for this accomplishment.

The membership campaign is spearheaded by Nara Lokesh, the TDP’s national general secretary and the Minister for Education.

Various party leaders presented updates to Chandrababu Naidu regarding the membership figures, noting that out of the 73 lakh members, 85,000 are from the neighboring state of Telangana.

Notably, in the recent membership drive, 54 percent of the enrolled members are new. Rajampet led the enrollment with 1.18 lakh members, while Nellore City followed closely with 1.06 lakh.

The Assembly constituency represented by Chandrababu Naidu, Kuppam, saw 1.04 lakh members join, with 1.02 lakh in Palakollu and 90,000 in Mangalagiri, represented by Lokesh.

Pleased with the successful enrollment, Chandrababu Naidu expressed his commitment to creating a robust force of party members and urged the cadre to aim for one in every four individuals in the state to become party members.

The Chief Minister also pledged to enhance welfare programs for the cadre and leaders, as well as to empower them politically and financially with more effective initiatives.

He emphasized the importance of implementing skill development programs, ensuring that government welfare schemes are accessible to the cadre, and providing better financial opportunities to improve their livelihoods. He also promised measures to increase their per capita income.

Chandrababu Naidu stated that priority would be given on a merit basis to those diligently working for the party's development, and efforts would be made at every level to support their families financially. He also reviewed the party's various divisions during the meeting.

Additionally, the Chief Minister announced that all outstanding bills for Neeru, Chettu, and NREGA, previously stalled by the former YSRCP government due to political motives, would be settled promptly. He assured that part of these bills has already been cleared and the remaining amounts will be addressed soon.
