Patna, Nov 24 (NationPress) The Disciplinary Committee of Bihar Congress has enacted strict measures against seven senior leaders, terminating their primary membership for a duration of six years due to anti-party activities and persistent breaches of organizational discipline.
In a directive from the Disciplinary Committee Chairman, Kapildev Prasad Yadav, it was noted that the explanations offered by the implicated leaders were deemed unsatisfactory.
Their actions infringed upon three out of five essential guidelines of party discipline.
The committee observed that the expelled leaders consistently made remarks outside the official party platform, opposing the policies and resolutions of Congress.
“They disregarded instructions from authorized individuals and tarnished the party’s reputation by disseminating unverified and misleading accusations—including allegations of ticket purchasing and selling—through media and social networking sites,” remarked Rajesh Rathor, head of the state Congress media cell.
“The committee clarified that the candidate selection process had been executed with absolute transparency, involving observer appointments, public outreach initiatives, deliberations by the State Election Committee, and comprehensive evaluations by the All India Election Committee,” he added.
“Regardless, the leaders persisted in making statements that contradicted the decisions of the State Congress Committee, observers, election panels, and the AICC, leading to confusion within the party. Furthermore, the committee highlighted that the leaders maintained their indiscipline even after their appointment as Assembly Observers with the consent of Central Observer Avinash Pandey,” he stated.
Consequently, the State’s Disciplinary Committee expelled Aditya Paswan (former Vice President, Congress Seva Dal), Shakeelur Rahman (former Vice President, State Congress), Raj Kumar Sharma (former President, Kisan Congress), Raj Kumar Rajan (former President, State Youth Congress), Kundan Gupta (former President, Extremely Backward Classes Department), Kanchana Kumari (president, Banka District Congress Committee), and Ravi Golden (Congress leader, Nalanda District).
The Congress party experienced a dismal performance in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, securing only six out of 61 contested seats.
