What Does Bihar's Reality Say After the Governor's Address?

Patna, Feb 2 (NationPress) Following Governor Arif Mohammad Khan's introductory remarks in the Bihar Assembly on Monday, the Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav launched a fierce critique of the Nitish government, characterizing the Governor’s address as nothing more than a customary procedure.
“Governors have come and gone, but the governor merely articulates what the government scripts for him. He simply recites what officials and the government present to him,” Tejashwi Yadav stated.
Labeling the address as a mere formality, Tejashwi asserted that while the speech depicted a scenario of progress, the true situation in Bihar reveals a contrasting narrative, particularly concerning law and order.
“The law and order condition in Bihar is exceedingly deficient. Continuous incidents of rape, murder, abduction, and gunfire are taking place,” he alleged.
Challenging the integrity of investigations, Tejashwi expressed apprehensions regarding the CBI inquiry into the NEET aspirant's alleged rape and suspicious death case.
“The CBI is probing the Muzaffarpur girls’ shelter home case -- what is the outcome? The CBI is also investigating the Srijan scam -- what has transpired?” he inquired.
Tejashwi Yadav also made grave allegations of corruption against the state administration.
“Visit any block, any police station -- corruption is ubiquitous,” he asserted.
Directly addressing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi questioned why Bihar remains the most underdeveloped state in the nation.
“Whether it’s the NITI Aayog report or per capita income, Bihar lags behind on all fronts. Bihar is only number one in two areas -- corruption and crime,” he remarked.
The RJD national working president further condemned the government regarding employment promises, claiming that assertions of industrial growth and substantial job creation lack transparency.
“The government asserts that industries will be established in each district and one crore individuals will secure jobs, but the specifics of this employment and its provision remain unclear,” he stated.
In relation to the Union Budget, Tejashwi accused the Central government of sidelining Bihar.
“The Central budget does not cater to Bihar. Last year, Bihar was highlighted due to elections. Now, with elections in Tamil Nadu, they are focusing on Tamil Nadu,” he remarked.
The Budget Session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly commenced on Monday with Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s address to the assembly.
In his speech, the Governor underscored the developmental initiatives undertaken in the state since Nitish Kumar took the reins as Chief Minister in November 2005, particularly in education, health, policing, and infrastructure.
The Governor mentioned that the state government has achieved significant progress over the years and has persistently aimed to enhance public services and governance.
