New Delhi, June 6 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which engaged in "misconduct" during its tenure in the national capital, will undoubtedly face legal consequences regarding the scams revealed by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, asserted Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday.
During a press briefing following her visit to a government school in Haiderpur village, located in north Delhi, CM Gupta highlighted that the previous administration led by Arvind Kejriwal established a "fraudulent education system" that resulted in school buildings deteriorating to the point of collapse within just two years.
Pointing at the village school, which was constructed in 2018 but rendered unusable shortly thereafter, she stated, "Legal proceedings are pending based on the CAG reports... Their fraudulent activities have finally been uncovered. The legal process will commence, and only then will actions against them be initiated."
"What I exhibited to you was constructed in 2018 by the esteemed Kejriwal government, but it crumbled within two years due to its artificial structure," she remarked.
CM Gupta also criticized the highly praised education model implemented by the former AAP government, stating, "Haiderpur village is a densely populated area, yet there is still no English medium or science curriculum school available. Where can children from this village pursue science education?"
She condemned the previous government and its legislators for their "inability" to provide an English-medium school with a science stream in the area.
"This clearly reflects the misguided direction of their so-called education policy," she emphasized.
In addition to denouncing the substandard construction of government school infrastructures, she also criticized the AAP government for failing to provide playgrounds. "There are zero sports facilities," declared CM Gupta.
"The conditions of government schools regarding security and sanitation are appalling. There is a critical shortage of staff, including school principals," she added.
The Chief Minister announced that the BJP government has initiated measures to fill principal positions and enhance security and sanitation conditions.
"Approximately 75 CM Shree schools will be established throughout the city to deliver superior education to students. These schools will surpass private institutions in quality," she mentioned.
CM Gupta also criticized the prior AAP government for establishing its own educational board within the city, claiming that this error will be corrected.
She noted that this decision has left Delhi students at a disadvantage in competing with peers from other states when seeking admission to educational institutions outside the national capital.
