New Delhi, Feb 28 (NationPress) Following the participation of approximately 66 crore devotees in the recently concluded 45-day Maha Kumbh, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has a special offering for those unable to attend the Prayagraj Sangam.
He has initiated the distribution of the sacred river water to 75 districts across the state, set to commence on Friday.
The Yogi administration plans to distribute Ganga water to every district, utilizing the resources from the Fire and Emergency Services Department. Fire tenders that were deployed during the Maha Kumbh Mela will return to their respective districts starting Friday.
"This initiative to distribute Sangam water throughout all districts of Uttar Pradesh is remarkable," stated the state government on Thursday.
Previously, CM Adityanath had assured that those who were unable to attend the Maha Kumbh would receive Sangam water directly at their homes. Following this directive, ADG Fire Department Padmaja Chauhan instructed Chief Fire Officer Pramod Sharma to guarantee that all fire tenders returning from the Maha Kumbh carry the sacred water back to their districts.
Before the Maha Kumbh Mela, the district administration set up new fire stations and deployed 365 vehicles to ensure quick response to any fire emergencies.
As the distribution of the sacred water begins, devotees are encouraged to perform rituals at home, according to the government’s announcement.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which took place from January 13 to February 26, attracted over 66 crore devotees from both India and abroad to the banks of Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Maha Kumbh and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the Centre, the Yogi Adityanath-led government, and the residents of Prayagraj for their service to devotees during the event, which attracted over 66 crore people to the Sangam - the confluence of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati.
The Prime Minister remarked that the immense turnout symbolizes a nation liberated from a mindset of oppression. "The Maha Kumbh has come to a close. The 'mahayagna' of unity has been completed," he expressed in a blog post about the Maha Kumbh.
