New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) In a meaningful effort to extend the spiritual essence of Maha Kumbh to those unable to attend, the organizers have ensured that holy Ganga water is accessible to distant areas such as Ayodhya and Noida. For individuals who missed the Maha Kumbh festivities for various reasons, this initiative allows them to receive 'Ganga jal' right at their doorstep.
Following the Maha Kumbh, which concluded on the auspicious day of Maha Shivratri, this program to transport the sacred waters from Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj was initiated specifically for those who couldn’t participate in the pilgrimage.
The initiative has garnered widespread acclaim, especially among the residents of Ayodhya and Noida, who are delighted by this gesture.
A local resident in Ayodhya shared with IANS: “I feel blessed to receive the Ganga Jal. We couldn’t attend the Maha Kumbh due to various reasons, but now we feel connected to it. I plan to share this water with my family and sprinkle it around our home to bring blessings.”
Another resident expressed similar feelings, stating, “This is a fantastic initiative by the government. Receiving 'Ganga Jal' at our doorstep makes me feel proud. I’m honored to have it in my home.”
MP Singh, the Chief Fire Officer in Ayodhya, detailed how the distribution of Gangajal is being conducted.
He mentioned, “The fire brigade vehicles that were deployed in Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh returned with Ganga Jal. Today, we held a distribution ceremony under the guidance of senior officers. These vehicles carried four and a half thousand liters of holy water, and we began distributing it this morning. Around one-third of the water has already been given out, and the program will continue until it’s all distributed.”
Residents of Noida were equally touched by this initiative. In Sector 52, a tanker filled with Ganga water arrived at the community hall, where long lines of locals were observed waiting to receive the sacred water.
A Noida resident expressed appreciation, saying, “This is a great step by the government for those of us who couldn’t make it to the Kumbh. We can now receive the holy water right here in our locality.”
Another local commented, “This initiative reflects our rich spiritual heritage. The government has made it possible for people to connect with the sacredness of the Kumbh and feel a deeper sense of belonging to 'Sanatan Dharma.'”
The Maha Kumbh, which officially concluded on February 26, witnessed over 660 million pilgrims gathering in Prayagraj for a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, making it the largest human assembly globally. Even after the festival’s conclusion, the sacred waters continue to flow to devotees, extending the spiritual blessings of the event far beyond its physical end.
This distribution of Ganga water acts as a symbolic gesture of inclusion, ensuring that the divine experience of the Maha Kumbh reaches those who, for various reasons, could not take part in this historic gathering. The government’s efforts are seen as a way to keep the spirit of the Kumbh vibrant in the hearts of individuals across the nation.
