Constitution Discussion: PM Modi Celebrates 'Nari Shakti' and Advocates for a 'Unified Bharat'

New Delhi, Dec 14 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised the strength of Nari Shakti in influencing the Constitution and made a compelling case for a unified Bharat to fulfill the nation’s aspirations in the twenty-first century.

Participating in the two-day debate on the Constitution, which marks the 75th anniversary of its adoption, PM Modi stated that the nation is now recognized and celebrated globally as the 'Mother of Democracy'.

"Nari Shakti played an essential role in shaping and empowering the Constitution. There were 15 women members in the Constituent Assembly who left their mark on this sacred document. This is a point of pride for all of us," PM Modi remarked.

He went on to highlight that his administration has emphasized women’s empowerment significantly.

"We have transitioned from focusing solely on women-centric initiatives to endorsing women-led development. We passed the Naari Shakti Adhiniyam Vandan to ensure women actively participate in our democracy. Today, women are shattering social barriers and making strides in every sector," PM Modi stated during his closing remarks in the Lok Sabha.

Advocating for unity, PM Modi urged all, including opposition parties, to unite in striving for the collective aspirations of the twenty-first century.

"Now is the time for everyone to celebrate our unity in diversity and resist divisions caused by political motives," the Prime Minister asserted in the Lower House.

He then outlined several initiatives spearheaded by his government aimed at fostering a cohesive approach in policy-making.

"Article 370 was a significant barrier to India's unity, and thus it was eliminated. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) has been crucial in ensuring economic unity – the principle of one nation, one tax takes this idea further," he explained.

PM Modi also mentioned that his government vigorously promoted the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' initiative to guarantee fair treatment for every citizen across the nation.

"Through the 'One Nation–One Health Card', known as the Ayushman Bharat Card, any Indian residing anywhere in the country can access the same medical benefits provided under the scheme. The One Nation, One Grid initiative has illuminated both urban areas and villages," PM Modi added.

Emphasizing the government's commitment to a digital economy, PM Modi noted that democratizing technology has ensured that the advantages of government schemes reach even the most remote areas without any discrimination.
