New Delhi, April 24 (NationPress) The President of the Delhi BJP and several other party officials were arrested on Thursday while participating in a demonstration organized by the Anti-Terror Action Forum outside the Pakistan High Commission in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

The demonstration commenced with a one-minute silence to honor the 26 Indian tourists and a local Kashmiri who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack on April 22.

Among the protesters were Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, former state presidents Harsh Vardhan and Satish Upadhyay, State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal, and other BJP leaders and MLAs, alongside members of the Anti-Terror Action Forum.

The demonstrators brandished placards with messages condemning Pakistan, and activists from the Forum criticized the neighboring country for its support of terrorism.

Some banners proclaimed: “Won’t bow before terrorism” and “Down with Pakistan”.

During the protest, BJP supporters breached police barricades, leading to the detention of Virendra Sachdeva and hundreds of BJP supporters by the Delhi Police, who were later taken to Chanakyapuri Police Station, and released shortly after.

Sachdeva expressed that every patriotic Indian is outraged today, asserting that the Pakistan-backed terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack will soon face retribution.

“Those who murder innocent individuals based on caste or religion must be held accountable. This is today’s India—the India of PM Narendra Modi—which has retaliated against attacks in Uri and Pulwama, and will soon respond to the Pahalgam incident,” he stated.

He further mentioned that India has thus far restricted the flow of river water, canceled visas, and reduced embassy staff, but the Modi administration will soon take action regarding Pahalgam in a manner that is understood.

Sachdeva indicated that the “traitors” in India, masquerading as politicians advocating for secularism, must recognize that what transpired in Kashmir could occur in their own neighborhoods if unity is not established.

“Our protest also targets individuals in the Pakistan High Commission who benefit from our hospitality while conspiring with our foes,” he added.

Harsh Vardhan reiterated the call for designating Pakistan as a terrorist state, as recommended by the United Nations.
