New Delhi, Sep 13 (NationPress) Blaming past administrations for 27 years of neglect, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday sanctioned promotions and additional benefits for 100 employees of the Electricity Department, reaffirming her pledge to a transparent administration.
While addressing the employees at the Delhi Secretariat, CM Gupta stated: “The government is focused on revitalizing the city, bringing an end to 27 years of mismanagement and neglect.”
“Through this commitment, we are establishing new benchmarks of transparency, integrity, and effective governance,” she noted.
“This is indeed a moment of happiness and fulfillment, as the long-standing efforts of employees have resulted in a positive outcome today. The promotions and time-bound benefits granted to over 100 employees are not merely administrative actions but a restoration of justice,” CM Rekha Gupta conveyed via a message on X.
During her meeting with the Chief Minister, employees from the Electricity Department expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts to reinstate long-overdue promotions.
Earlier in the day, she launched the nation’s first hotline maintenance van capable of repairing live electricity cables without disrupting the power supply to nearby homes and businesses.
Unveiling a pilot initiative featuring the high-tech vans in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister remarked: "Such vans will soon be deployed across all constituencies in the city. This marks the first-ever introduction of such a van in the country today."
The inaugural van, priced at Rs 1.5 crore, is designated for the convenience of Shalimar Bagh residents, with the Chief Minister dubbing it a gift from the Power Department.
“Our aim is to ensure that residents in all constituencies benefit from this facility, which helps to prevent disruptions caused by necessary power cuts for repairs,” she added.
In her address regarding additional development projects in the area, she stated, “New street lights are being installed, while throughout Delhi, over 44,000 new lights will be added to enhance lighting and security.”
