New Delhi, Sep 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, inaugurated the city's inaugural hotline maintenance van on Saturday, specifically designed to repair live electricity cables without the need to disconnect power to surrounding homes and businesses.

While launching this pilot initiative in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, the CM remarked, "These advanced vans will soon be deployed across all of the city’s constituencies. This marks a historic first for our country as such a van is being introduced today in the capital."

The initial van, valued at Rs 1.5 crore, is aimed at enhancing the convenience for local residents, which the CM referred to as a present from the Power Department.

"We aspire for all residents in every constituency to benefit from this service, which will help prevent the inconvenience caused by forced power outages during repairs," she added.

In her address, she also informed residents about additional developmental projects in the area, stating, "New street lights are being installed locally, while over 44,000 new lights will be added throughout Delhi to bolster safety and illumination."

Moreover, she announced the commencement of underground cabling projects from Shalimar Bagh Khosla Grid to Netaji Subhash Place Circuit.

A new road is set to be constructed near Munak Canal at an investment of Rs 5,000 crore from the central government, with a detailed project report currently being developed. She also noted that a new Chhath Ghat will be established on this canal.

The CM took to X, stating, "Today, financial aid has been provided to families affected by the recent accident at Munak Canal. We will also ensure robust maintenance, barricading, and cleaning of the canal."

In Haiderpur, a new higher secondary school and community center have received approval. In the CA Block, initiatives have commenced for an online water booster pump, reconstruction of the water tank, and installation of a new tubewell, she noted.

Additionally, plans are in place for a yoga shelter, along with a new play area and play station for children in the Assembly constituency.

"Our government has successfully removed illegal encroachments spanning 12,000 square yards near Sheesh Mahal Park. For the past 30 years, I have been devoted to serving this community. The development of Shalimar Bagh Assembly Constituency is my utmost priority, and I will always be here as your daughter to serve you," she asserted.

Area MP Praveen Khandelawal and Delhi Power Minister Ashish Sood were also in attendance during this significant event.
