Chennai, Jan 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, stated on Saturday that numerous key initiatives of the DMK administration have been embraced by the Union government. He expressed astonishment that Governor R.N. Ravi, who has consistently criticized the state government, seems oblivious to this reality.
During his response to the Governor's address in the Assembly debate, CM Stalin pointed out that Union Home Minister Amit Shah personally presented accolades acknowledging Tamil Nadu's achievements in the cooperative sector.
"In total, Tamil Nadu has been honored with 65 awards from the Union government. Yet, the Governor persists in his criticism of our administration, revealing a vision that is fundamentally flawed," the Chief Minister remarked.
Emphasizing the state's law and order situation, CM Stalin noted that Tamil Nadu has remained free from communal riots, caste disputes, and gang violence throughout the current DMK regime.
"This is the hallmark of the Dravidian Model of governance. Officials from various states frequently visit Tamil Nadu to observe and replicate our successful programs," he highlighted.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced that the state's Health and Family Welfare Department was awarded the prestigious United Nations Interagency Task Force Awards (UNIATF) for 2024 in the 'Ministries of Health' category, recognizing its flagship doorstep healthcare initiative, Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam.
He described this recognition as global affirmation of Tamil Nadu's public health approach.
On the economic front, CM Stalin remarked that Tamil Nadu has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years.
"Having been ranked last in 2018, the state has now risen to become the leading performer in the startup ecosystem. Tamil Nadu also leads the Export Preparedness Index with a score of 80.89 and is at the forefront of electronics manufacturing, contributing 41.23% to the national output," he added.
CM Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu is now home to 20 Ramsar wetlands, underscoring its dedication to environmental preservation.
In agriculture, the state has achieved second place nationally in the production of oilseeds, groundnuts, sugarcane, and maize.
Referencing crime statistics, CM Stalin pointed out a significant decrease in murders, robbery, and sexual assaults compared to the previous AIADMK administration.
In concluding remarks, CM Stalin noted that 1,724 days have elapsed since he took office, during which he participated in 8,685 official events, signed 15,117 documents, and visited districts outside Chennai on 173 occasions, highlighting a governance model focused on performance and accountability.
