Enhanced Facilities and Expanded Parking: Uttar Pradesh Ministers Discuss the Grandeur of Mahakumbh 2025

New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) As the Uttar Pradesh government completes its preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, various initiatives are being launched to enhance the experience of pilgrims flocking to the holy city next month.

This year, for the first time, six state-of-the-art fireboats, costing ₹1.38 crore, have been introduced to guarantee the safety of pilgrims at the Sangam. These boats are expected to be operational by the end of this month.

In a conversation with IANS, two ministers from Uttar Pradesh elaborated on the improvements that are bigger, better, and more magnificent than in previous editions of the Mahakumbh.

Arun Kumar Saxena, Minister of State (Independent Charge), stated that approximately 45 crore pilgrims and devotees are anticipated to visit the holy city during the month-long Mahakumbh.

“The previous Kumbh was organized over 3,200 hectares, while this time it will cover 4,000 hectares. The Kumbh area was divided into 20 sectors last time; now it has expanded to 25 sectors. The parking area has grown from 1.291 hectares to 1,850 hectares. Previously, there were 9 road over-bridges and 6 underpasses; this time, the count is 14 road over-bridges. The number of concrete ghats has increased from 4 to 9,” he explained, emphasizing the larger scale of operations this year.

He added, “In the past, there was 1 River Front Road. This time, we have constructed 7. The number of ISI Ghats has risen from 8 to 12. Shuttle buses have increased from 500 to 550, and the number of roadway buses has been boosted from 5,700 to 7,000.”

Additionally, he noted that roads are being widened and measures are being taken to prevent untreated water from entering the river.

Sanjay Singh Gangwar, another minister from Uttar Pradesh, remarked that special systems are being implemented to monitor the movement of pilgrims to provide immediate assistance.

“We will track every individual who attends. By utilizing technology, we aim for complete monitoring to ensure no one goes missing,” he stated.

“The number of tents has doubled from 40,000 to 80,000. There will be no inconvenience, and I encourage everyone to participate in the Mahakumbh at Prayagraj,” he added.

Notably, Prayagraj is where the three rivers, Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, converge, a sacred site referred to as the Sangam. The Mahakumbh has been celebrated here since ancient times, attracting millions of people during the month-long holy period.
