Ahmedabad, Jan 27 (NationPress) The Central government has established the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat at Rs 2,585 per quintal for the Rabi Marketing Season 2026-27.

In accordance with this decision, wheat will be purchased at MSP throughout Gujarat via the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd., aimed at guaranteeing remunerative prices for farmers.

Farmers intending to sell wheat at MSP must complete an online registration process at the village level through VCEs from February 1 to March 1, 2026. Registration will be facilitated through biometric authentication of farmer account holders. The procurement period for wheat at MSP will span from March 4 to May 15, 2026.

To register, farmers should prepare documents including a copy of their Aadhaar card, updated village records, 7/12 and 8-A land records, and proof of crop sowing. If crop sowing information is absent in land records, a certificate endorsed by the Talati will be necessary.

Furthermore, farmers must provide their bank account details, along with a copy of their bank passbook or a cancelled cheque. Registered farmers will receive procurement schedules via SMS alerts.

During procurement, farmers must present their Aadhaar card or another valid identity proof, and wheat will only be purchased after biometric verification.

Authorities have cautioned that any discrepancies or fraudulent documents found during verification will lead to the cancellation of registration, and the farmer will not be notified for procurement.

Since online registration is compulsory for selling wheat at MSP, farmers are encouraged to seek assistance from their respective gram panchayats.

If any issues arise during the registration process, farmers can reach out to the helpline numbers 8511171718 and 8511171719, as stated by the Civil Supplies Corporation.
