New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) The Indian Oil Corporation has performed more than 10,600 inspections, implementing stringent measures against individuals and organizations found at fault, including show-cause notices and suspensions, as per their official statement.
In collaboration with state authorities, IndianOil has executed over 1.2 lakh raids and filed more than 990 FIRs nationally across the sector to ensure equitable distribution, as stated in a post on X.
“Indane distributorships are under constant observation to maintain service quality and guarantee that LPG reaches every legitimate customer,” the company affirmed.
IndianOil emphasizes prioritizing LPG supply for domestic users, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and uninterrupted distribution throughout the nation.
Rigorous monitoring and enforcement initiatives are in place to prevent diversion, black marketing, and hoarding.
On April 10, over 51.5 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered, with the government reporting the sale of around 1 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders across the country on that day, compared to a daily average of 77,000 during February 2026.
Since March 23, 2026, more than 12 lakh 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have been distributed to students and vulnerable groups, including migrant workers, as informed by the Petroleum Ministry.
These 5-kg FTL cylinders are available for state governments to distribute solely to migrant workers in their regions with the support of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
In the last eight days, PSU OMCs have organized approximately 2,900 awareness camps for 5-kg FTL cylinders, selling over 29,000 cylinders, according to government reports.
“Citizens are urged to refrain from panic buying of petrol, diesel, and LPG and to consult only official sources for updates. LPG users are encouraged to utilize digital booking platforms and minimize visits to distributors. The public is also invited to consider alternative fuels like PNG, electric, or induction cooktops. All individuals are called upon to conserve energy in their daily routines given the current situation,” stated the ministry.
