New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) The President of Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, criticized former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday, labeling him as a master of deception and corruption. He accused Kejriwal of attempting to mislead the public by declaring 'Satyamev Jayate' following a city court's dismissal of two Enforcement Directorate (ED) pleas regarding his non-appearance in the ongoing liquor scam investigation.
Kejriwal's social media post on platform X implied that he was exonerated in the primary liquor scam case brought against him by the ED. However, the court's dismissal merely indicated that the ED's previous summons were not maintainable.
Sachdeva remarked that 'Satyamev Jayate' embodies honor, and by using it in his post, Kejriwal falsely portrayed himself as innocent in the liquor scam.
He emphasized that Kejriwal cannot claim innocence based solely on the dismissal of the ED summons, reiterating that he remains the principal accused in a case still under trial and is likely to be convicted and imprisoned.
Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor also condemned Kejriwal's use of 'Satyamev Jayate' on social media, labeling it another falsehood. He urged the public to recognize that Kejriwal has not been acquitted in the ED's economic fraud case, which continues to unfold.
Kapoor explained that Kejriwal's complaints against the ED summons were deemed improper, and the court's ruling merely confirmed that the complaints were not maintainable after his release on bail.
Previously, a Delhi court had acquitted Kejriwal in two complaints from the ED seeking action against him for alleged non-compliance with summons related to the Delhi excise policy case.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Paras Dalal of the Rouse Avenue Court delivered this judgment.
