BJP Faces Multiple Chief Minister Candidates; Court Disqualifies Kejriwal from AAP CM Role: Virendra Sachdeva

New Delhi, Jan 11 (NationPress) AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal is fully aware that he will never be able to take the oath as chief minister due to court restrictions. Nevertheless, he is still campaigning for votes by portraying himself as his party's CM candidate, according to Virendra Sachdeva, the President of Delhi BJP, who made these remarks on Saturday.

Sachdeva pointed out that Kejriwal understands that AAP is on the verge of losing the Delhi elections to the BJP, which is why he is attempting to sow confusion regarding the BJP's CM candidate by suggesting that Ramesh Bidhuri could be the party's choice.

"I challenge Arvind Kejriwal, who is promoting himself as a CM candidate, to seek legal advice from a lawyer and comprehend that he will never be able to take the oath of office as CM due to the restrictions imposed by the Supreme Court," Sachdeva remarked, referencing the legal constraints placed on Kejriwal following his release on bail in a money laundering case tied to the now-repealed excise policy.

Sachdeva emphasized that the BJP's CM face would be determined by the party's MLAs and national leadership. "Every BJP candidate for the Delhi Assembly is a potential Chief Ministerial candidate," he stated.

Earlier, Sachdeva expressed that the recent CAG report concerning the Delhi Liquor Scam, which was revealed by the media, is alarming.

The CAG report, disclosed by the media, indicates a loss to the exchequer exceeding Rs 2,026 crore for the first time, he pointed out.

Sachdeva mentioned that the preliminary loss figure over a span of just about a year suggests that had the BJP protests not compelled Arvind Kejriwal to retract his fraudulent Liquor Policy, the loss to Delhi could have surpassed Rs 10,000 crore by now.

The President of Delhi BJP stated that it is shocking that the new Liquor Policy implemented by the Kejriwal government was not approved by the Delhi Assembly and lacked transparency on various fronts.

The qualifications of numerous bidders were dubious, and the recommendations of the Expert Committee were disregarded and violated. Licenses for wholesale, retail, and zonal operations were issued in contravention of legal stipulations, he said.

Sachdeva lambasted the current Delhi government, accusing it of corrupt practices that have caused significant hardship to honest citizens. Describing the government as a "disaster," he asserted that it has deceived Delhi's residents with false promises. "We need to dismantle this regime that has built palaces of corruption," he declared.
