New Delhi, March 9 (NationPress) The President of the Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, expressed his support on Monday for the Delhi High Court's decision to consider the appeal regarding the acquittal of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and other individuals implicated in the excise policy scandal by a prior CBI court.

Sachdeva remarked that deceitful practices are inherently short-lived.

He stated, "While judicial proceedings may require time, the truth ultimately emerges victorious. The involvement of the Arvind Kejriwal administration in the liquor scam will soon be clarified in the Delhi High Court following thorough deliberations," he continued.

The Delhi BJP has previously acknowledged and continues to assert its respect for the lower CBI court.

However, the High Court's suspension of certain comments made by the CBI court regarding CBI officials raises doubts about the validity of the lower court's verdict.

Sachdeva noted that legal experts have identified multiple flaws in the lower court's ruling.

Among the issues being debated are the Delhi government's alleged neglect of the Ranjan Gogoi Committee's findings, attempts by accused Zakir Khan to sway public opinion through fraudulent emails, and the purported recovery of a Rs 10 note—allegedly used for hawala transactions during the 2022 Goa Assembly elections—from the devices of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.

Sachdeva added that the continuation of judicial actions by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), as permitted by the Delhi High Court, has reinforced the integrity of the judicial process.

He also commented that the lower court's exoneration of Arvind Kejriwal is not an unprecedented occurrence.

Historically, many leaders accused of scams, such as Lalu Prasad Yadav, A. Raja, and Kanimozhi, were also discharged by lower courts and celebrated prematurely, only to later face significant penalties.

Point of View

The situation serves as a reminder of the intricate balance between legal processes and public accountability. Observers are keenly watching how this will unfold.
