Devotees from various parts of the nation and across the globe are flocking to Mahakumbh Nagar for this holy immersion.

As per the latest reports, approximately 32 lakh devotees had visited Mahakumbh Nagar by 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The office of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared this information through a social media update.

By 8 p.m. on Saturday, official data indicated that over 42 lakh people had experienced a “dip of faith.” Furthermore, around 32 lakh pilgrims visited Mahakumbh Nagar, with over 10 lakh 'Kalpavasis' also present.

Reports confirm that thus far, more than 7.72 crore devotees have bathed in the auspicious waters of Mahakumbh.

The social media account of CM Yogi Adityanath stated that more than 100,000 devotees have partaken in the blessings of the holy bath at Sangam.

A social media post from his office conveyed: "Congratulations to all the esteemed saints, over 10 lakh 'Kalpavasis', and more than 32 lakh devotees who gained virtuous benefits today."

On Saturday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also attended the Mahakumbh festivities, accompanied by BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi.

Upon arriving in Prayagraj, the Defence Minister first immersed himself in the holy waters of the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati—and chanted 'Sanatan ki Jai' and 'Ganga Maiya ki Jai'.

He also reviewed the arrangements for Mahakumbh after visiting Akshayavat, Patalpuri, and Bade Hanuman ji along the banks of Sangam.

"I consider it a privilege to have bathed at Sangam in Prayagraj today. This event represents a spiritual and cultural celebration of Indian identity. It should not be associated with any specific sect, community, or religion. To truly understand India, one must witness the Mahakumbh," remarked Rajnath Singh.

The Prayagraj Mahakumbh, under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, is not just a spiritual gathering; it also serves as a vital catalyst for economic growth.

This grand festival, which draws millions of pilgrims and tourists, is anticipated to create temporary employment for 6 to 10 lakh individuals, providing job opportunities across various sectors. While many of these roles may be temporary, they will greatly improve the quality of life for numerous participants.

With expectations of over 40 crore pilgrims and tourists visiting Prayagraj between Paush Purnima and Mahashivratri, the Mahakumbh is set to invigorate both the local and national economies. CM Yogi has highlighted that if each visitor spends an average of Rs 5,000 on essentials, the total revenue generated during this month-and-a-half-long event could surpass Rs 2 lakh crore.

Experts indicate that this level of economic activity over six weeks is equivalent to the earnings of eight regular months for many enterprises. A significant fraction of this revenue will contribute to governmental taxes and enhance the country’s GDP.

The Mahakumbh has stimulated demand in various sectors, including logistics, transportation, digital security, hospitality, event management, and infrastructure development.

According to predictions from Staffing Recruitment Services and First Meridian Global, 6 to 10 lakh jobs will be created during this timeframe. These positions include roles in tent management, data analysis, branding, marketing, and social media influence, alongside traditional jobs like food stalls, religious services, and transportation.

The festival has also invigorated local and small businesses. Vendors offering items such as prasad, flowers, sweets, and dairy products; artisans selling bangles, bindis, and sindoor; along with priests and barbers catering to pilgrims have all experienced a surge in demand. For these local entrepreneurs, Mahakumbh presents an opportunity to earn significantly more than on ordinary days.
