The Governor presented floral offerings before their portraits and bowed in deep respect during an event held at Raj Bhavan. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yadav commemorated their remarkable legacies during a ceremony in Jabalpur.
Accompanied by State Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, the Chief Minister toured a museum that showcases the life stories of these eminent tribal leaders.
Numerous tribal leaders and local BJP officials from the Jabalpur district were also in attendance.
Significantly, the prison cell where Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah were detained by the British after their arrest in 1857, along with the site of their sentencing, is being transformed into a museum.
"This museum, which safeguards the narratives of tribal pride and courage, will eternally honor the unmatched sacrifices made by Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah," asserted the Chief Minister.
While addressing the event, CM Yadav remarked that both tribal icons ignited a sense of freedom among the tribal populace throughout the nation, with the essence of this revolution rooted in 'Swadeshi'.
He emphasized that Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah sacrificed their lives for the nation amid the freedom struggle.
Additionally, they inspired enthusiasm and passion for liberty through their thoughts and poetry, challenging the oppressive British regime, he noted.
"In honoring their sacrifices, we must embrace the idea of 'Swadeshi' to empower India. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also advocated for 'Swadeshi'; let us unite in this effort to make Madhya Pradesh a self-reliant and developed state," stated CM Yadav.
