Mumbai Teen Makes History as the Youngest Female to Climb All Seven Highest Peaks

New Delhi, Dec 30 (NationPress) In a remarkable exhibition of grit and talent, Kaamya Karthikeyan, a 17-year-old student from Navy Children School in Mumbai, has achieved the distinction of being the youngest female globally to conquer the highest summits on each of the seven continents.
Displaying an extraordinary level of mountaineering skill, the 17-year-old adventurer has successfully ascended Africa (Mt Kilimanjaro), Europe (Mt Elbrus), Australia (Mt Kosciuszko), South America (Mt Aconcagua), North America (Mt Denali), Asia (Mt Everest), and recently completed her journey in Antarctica.
The young climber reached the peak of Mt Vincent in Antarctica alongside her father, Commander S. Karthikeyan, on December 24 at 17:20 hrs Chilean Standard Time, marking the completion of the Seven Summits Challenge, as announced by the Indian Navy.
The Indian Navy extended its congratulations to Kaamya Karthikeyan and her father for achieving this significant milestone.
On its official handle on X, the spokesperson for the Navy stated, "Kaamya Karthikeyan, a class XII student at @IN_NCS Mumbai, has made history by becoming the youngest female in the world to ascend the seven highest peaks across seven continents."
"The Indian Navy congratulates Kaamya Karthikeyan and her father for this remarkable accomplishment," it added.
Navy Children School in Mumbai also recognized the 17-year-old and shared, "Breaking barriers and reaching new heights! Kaamya Karthikeyan, Class XII, Navy Children School, Mumbai, becomes the youngest female in the world to conquer the Seven Summits -- the highest peaks on all seven continents! A moment of immense pride for NCS Mumbai!"
Kaamya Karthikeyan was just sixteen when she successfully scaled Mount Everest.
She recounted that her first trekking experience occurred when she was 7 years old in Uttarakhand.
Her remarkable achievements have not only earned her the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar, India's highest national accolade for young achievers in 2021, but also recognition from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Mann-ki-Baat.
She is now pursuing the Explorer's Grand Slam, a challenging goal that includes reaching both the North and South Poles, in addition to climbing the Seven Summits: Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson, and Pancak Jaya/Kościuszko.
