Bharatpur, Jan 27 (NationPress) In a significant move to combat the illegal arms trade, Rajasthan Police on Monday confiscated five country-made pistols along with five live cartridges while apprehending four additional suspects and detaining a minor.
This recent operation has escalated the number of arrests in this case to a total of eight, resulting in the recovery of eight pistols and 45 cartridges.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Mridul Kachhawa stated that this operation forms a part of an ongoing initiative against illegal weaponry under his leadership.
The operation was conducted under the oversight of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Satish Yadav and Circle Officer (CO) City Pankaj Yadav (IPS).
On Sunday, a team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Madanlal, supported by ASI Radhakishan and other officers from Mathuragate Police Station, arrested Rohit Jat (20), Hritik Jat (20), Pravendra Singh (23), and Munendra Jat (26).
Moreover, one minor involved in the illegal arms operations was detained. The police managed to recover five illegal country-made pistols along with five live cartridges from the accused.
Intensive questioning is currently ongoing to reveal more about the arms network.
On January 23, three additional individuals were arrested regarding this case. Hira Singh Gurjar, a resident of Mathuragate, was found in possession of one 12-bore country-made pistol, two 315-bore country-made pistols, 22 live cartridges, and 23 empty cartridges.
Sachin Gurjar, another Mathuragate resident, was apprehended with one 315-bore country-made pistol and a live cartridge.
Additionally, Robin Jat, a resident of Chiksana, was arrested with an illegal handmade pistol and a live cartridge. The arrested individuals are believed to be supplying weapons to criminals involved in organized crime.
The police are continuing their investigation to dismantle the illegal arms trade network operating in the region.
