Hyderabad, Oct 3 (NationPress) The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed admiration for the Jain community's vital role in nation-building, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy on Friday.
During his address at the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) Connect 2025 event in Hyderabad, he highlighted that the Jain community, which comprises less than 0.5% of India's population, contributes nearly 24% to the nation’s total tax revenue.
Rajnath Singh emphasized that the Jain community is making a remarkable impact on India's economic development while preserving its cultural and spiritual heritage.
He pointed out that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is on the trajectory to become the third-largest economy globally.
“In both the social and economic spheres, we have reached extraordinary milestones. The quality of life for our citizens has improved, providing them with new prospects,” he stated.
The Defence Minister also remarked on India’s swift advancement towards becoming the manufacturing hub of the world.
“The time is near when India will be recognized as the ‘Factory of the World’. Initiatives like ‘Make in India’ have not only bolstered local enterprises but also enhanced the global standing of Indian products,” he added.
“From the Tejas fighter aircraft to the Akash missile, the Arjun tank, and the Prachand helicopter—our armed forces are continually being empowered through indigenous technology. India is now not only fulfilling its own defense needs but is also achieving new heights in defense exports. We are emerging as a significant arms supplier on the global stage,” he mentioned.
Attending the inaugural session of this three-day exhibition, which focuses on networking, knowledge, and entertainment, were figures like Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and Telangana’s IT and Industry Minister G. Sridhar Babu.
