Varanasi, April 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently toured a tea estate in Dibrugarh during his campaign events in the election-focused state of Assam. He engaged with local women workers while also participating in the tea leaf plucking activity.
A group of these tea garden workers from Assam are currently experiencing a 'Bharat Darshan' journey, exploring the sacred cities of Uttar Pradesh, including Ayodhya and Kashi.
Several workers expressed their excitement about meeting PM Modi up close and shared their unforgettable experiences from the tea gardens in Dibrugarh, emphasizing that these moments would be cherished forever.
One woman remarked, “Seeing PM Modi in person was a surreal experience. He took the time to ask us about our children's education and showed genuine interest in our lives.”
Another described it as a “joyful encounter,” adding, “He kept his word. PM Modi inquired about our work in the tea gardens and how we harvest the leaves.”
An Assamese participant reminisced, “When PM Modi visited, he joined us in plucking tea leaves. Thanks to his kindness, we traveled to Banaras, where we had the divine ‘darshan’ of Lord Ram and took a sacred dip in the River Saryu.”
Other women expressed their elation at finally getting the chance to explore their own country, a dream that had long seemed distant.
“This trip was made possible by the Ashok Singhal Foundation. We had never traveled so extensively before, and they took exceptional care of us throughout the journey. We are deeply grateful,” stated one woman.
Another added, “We had an incredible time visiting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and other significant sites. We had never imagined seeing these places, and PM Modi made it happen for us.”
Sharing their memorable experiences, many expressed their gratitude towards PM Modi for organizing this enlightening tour.
“We have received all the support we could ask for. During our journey, we explored various locations and enjoyed excellent accommodations in quality hotels. The food and refreshments were also remarkable. We were treated with great respect, with many referring to us as 'Modi-ji's guests,'” a woman noted.
Another tea worker reflected, “We were ecstatic when the Prime Minister came to meet us. Previously, we lacked access to such opportunities. Now, we feel empowered and confident in our potential for growth. This was our first trip outside of Assam.”
Reflecting on her encounter with PM Modi, one woman recounted, “When we met the Prime Minister, he asked if we had ever traveled for leisure. We said no, and he encouraged us to embark on this journey, which we eagerly accepted. Now, here we are, traveling!”
