Patna, Sep 28 (NationPress) Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), raised questions on Sunday regarding the strategies of the Centre and state government to boost revenue and deliver on their election commitments.
While addressing the media, Yadav stated, "We demand to know from the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister how they intend to make the proposed budget of over Rs 7 lakh crore a reality. This inquiry reflects the concerns of the people in Bihar."
"What are your plans for revenue generation, and what future initiatives are in place to support this growth? I seek clarity on this simple question, especially regarding corruption. The Prime Minister has cited numerous corruption cases; I want to know if any steps have been taken in response to these issues?" he questioned.
Tejashwi reiterated this concern during an earlier press conference.
"I have specific queries for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has been at the helm for two decades. The citizens are also looking for answers. I hope the Chief Minister will address these questions directly rather than passing them off to others. I have often stated that this government merely mimics others due to its lack of vision," he expressed.
Tejashwi also indicated that Bihar's total budget stands at Rs 3.17 lakh crore, with the government holding Rs 3.95 lakh crore in total, of which Rs 2 lakh crore is designated for committed expenditures.
"This leaves Rs 1.95 lakh crore available for various schemes, including those pending. I ask, what strategies does this government have for revenue generation?" he questioned.
"Prime Minister Modi has unveiled schemes amounting to Rs 1.15 lakh crore during rallies between May and September this year. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced initiatives worth Rs 50,000 crore during his Pragati Yatra. Combined, their pledges have reached approximately Rs 7.08 lakh crore. What is the Chief Minister's vision? We are curious to know," Tejashwi Yadav added.
