Mumbai, Aug 13 (NationPress) Jeet Adani, the Director of Adani Airports, expressed on Wednesday that the sight of our Tricolour evokes profound pride in every Indian's heart.
In a message on the social media platform X, he stated, "I'm confident that everyone who passes through Mumbai Airport will experience this sentiment as well."
Jeet Adani responded to a post from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on X.
"CSMIA commemorates India's 79th Independence Day with a stunning tricolour illumination at Terminals 1 and 2, alongside thematic displays that embody the essence of freedom and unity," the airport shared from its official X account.
To enhance the airport experience, CSMIA is implementing several transformative projects, including the redevelopment of Terminal 1, capacity expansion, digital advancements, airside improvements, smart passenger technology, and sustainability initiatives.
Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), the operator of CSMIA, is embarking on a significant transformation with the redevelopment of Terminal 1 (T1), which will be capable of accommodating 20 million passengers annually, a 42% increase from its current capacity.
Expected to be completed in 2028-29, the new terminal will span over two million square feet, setting a benchmark for digitisation and customer convenience.
Phase 1 of T1's modernisation is slated to begin in November of this year, as stated by CSMIA, which is overseen by Adani Airport Holdings Limited.
The redevelopment of Terminal 1 will be executed in phases to reduce disruption to airport operations.
The first phase involves demolishing the existing structure, starting in November 2025, followed by the construction of the new terminal.
CSMIA T2, along with Navi Mumbai International Airport, expected to be operational in 2025, will address the capacity shortfall during T1's demolition.
Together, these airports will efficiently manage passenger and flight schedules to meet the rising demands of both Mumbai City and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
