Key Takeaways
Agartala, Feb 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, emphasized that Tripura is a tranquil, lush, and promising region in the Northeast. He stated that the BJP government's foremost aim is to illuminate every part of the state with development through the efficient execution of various projects.
The Chief Minister made these remarks on Monday while inaugurating four significant development initiatives at Atharobhola in the Killa block of Gomati district in southern Tripura.
He noted the establishment of a state-of-the-art AstroTurf synthetic football mini stadium at Atharobhola, costing Rs 5.36 crore, underlining that sports infrastructure is crucial for youth development.
Emphasizing the role of education, Chief Minister Saha mentioned that development cannot be achieved without a strong educational foundation, and ensuring women's involvement in education is a major focus for the state government.
"The overall advancement of the janajati (tribal) community is vital for the genuine progress of both the state and the nation. The lack of safe and well-structured hostel facilities has negatively impacted students' education. To address this, the state government is constructing hostels in various educational institutions," he stated.
He revealed that 50-seat hostels have been built at Dasharatha Dev Memorial English Medium Model School and Devta Mura High School (South Barmura VC) in Killa block, at a total expense of Rs 5.2 crore.
Reflecting on the previous administration, the Chief Minister noted that the janajati individuals were previously misguided and led towards terrorism, resulting in conflict and distress.
"The current government has liberated the state from that predicament and returned it to the path of development," he remarked.
Highlighting healthcare initiatives, Chief Minister Saha asserted that a healthy community is the cornerstone of a developed society.
"With this vision, a modern 10-bed Primary Health Centre has been constructed at Nityabazar in Killa block for Rs 5.4 crore through the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund. This facility will guarantee accessible healthcare for nearby villages and minimize the necessity for long travels to treat common ailments," he noted.
The Chief Minister mentioned that these efforts illustrate the state government's commitment to execution rather than mere words.
"Killa is not just a locality anymore; it has transformed into a glowing example of development. A self-sufficient and robust Tripura is being constructed on three pillars—sports, education, and health," he added.
Additionally, Chief Minister Saha mentioned that six new national highways have been built in the state, significant advancements have been made in railway infrastructure, and numerous new projects and schemes have recently received approval from the state Cabinet.
Present at the event were State Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Sports Minister Tinku Roy, MLA Rampada Jamatia, Secretary K. Sasikumar, Gomati's officiating District Magistrate Subhash Acharya, Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K, and other officials.
