As the session began, SP MLAs displayed placards bearing anti-government slogans and shouted "Governor Go Back".
In spite of the uproar, the Governor continued her address uninterrupted.
Among the dissenters, SP MLA Pallavi Patel chose to remain seated during the protest, despite encouragement from her peers. At the same time, SP MLA Atul Pradhan from Sardhana brought attention to concerns regarding the statue of Ahilyabai Holkar.
The placards waved by SP members included phrases like “Destruction in the name of development,” “No medicine, no facilities in hospitals,” “No hearing for the poor,” “PDA will end BJP’s rule,” and “SIR is a conspiracy”.
In a coordinated protest, SP MLAs continuously chanted “Go back, go back” throughout the Governor's speech.
In the midst of the chaos, Governor Anandiben Patel remarked that nearly six crore individuals in Uttar Pradesh have been lifted out of poverty due to the initiatives of the state government.
Additionally, SP MLA Zahid Beg protested within the Assembly complex, holding a sign addressing issues concerning SIR and Form-7.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath informed reporters that the state's economic survey would be presented after the Governor's address, emphasizing that this is the first instance in which a state government is showcasing its economic accomplishments in such a detailed manner.
He asserted that Uttar Pradesh has transitioned from a state of backwardness to a significant player in the Indian economy.
Before the session commenced, SP MLAs and MLCs had already staged a protest near the statue of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh within the Assembly grounds, voicing their discontent with the BJP-led government.
