Ahmedabad, March 28 (NationPress) Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) announced on Friday the successful commissioning of a 212.50 megawatt (MW) solar power project located in Khavda, Gujarat.
This project has been established through its fully-owned subsidiary, Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited.
According to the company's exchange filing, “Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited, a wholly-owned stepdown subsidiary of the Company, has launched a solar power project of 212.50 MW at Khavda, Gujarat.”
This new initiative raises Adani Green's total operational renewable energy capacity to 13,700.3 MW, as confirmed by the company.
Last month, the firm became the first renewable energy company in India to exceed 12,000 MW of operational capacity.
Currently, Adani Green is in the process of developing the world’s largest renewable energy facility in Khavda, Gujarat, which is set to have a capacity of 30,000 MW.
The project will span an area of 538 square kilometers, making it nearly as vast as Mumbai and five times larger than Paris. Upon completion, it will stand as the world’s largest power plant across all energy sectors.
Earlier today, Adani Green also revealed that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve Limited, has been awarded a Letter of Award (LOA) from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).
The company is set to provide 400 MW of solar energy from grid-connected projects in Rajasthan at a tariff of Rs 2.57 per unit for a duration of 25 years.
The company stated, “Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve Limited (AREH12L), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for the supply of 400 MW solar energy from grid-connected solar PV power projects to be developed in Rajasthan at a tariff of Rs 2.57/kWh for a period of 25 years,” as mentioned in its regulatory filing.
The company also clarified that neither the promoter nor the promoter group holds any interest in UPPCL.
Adani Green emphasized that this milestone reinforces its leadership position in the renewable energy sector and supports India’s increasing solar power capacity.
