Hyderabad, Aug 4 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared that Hyderabad has emerged as a global GCC hub within just 20 months under the Congress government.
The expansion of the Global Capability Centre (GCC) is a significant milestone towards realizing the TelanganaRising 2047 vision and the ambition of a one-trillion-dollar economy, he shared at the launch of the new technology and innovation facility of US pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the inauguration serves as clear evidence that, in under 20 months, thanks to the vision and dedication of IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, the government has positioned Hyderabad as the global GCC capital.
“We are not merely inaugurating a standard centre or GCC; we are unveiling the nerve centre of Eli Lilly, which will function as the brain of the corporation, managing and expediting Eli Lilly's global operations,” he stated.
According to him, the GCC's growth in Hyderabad, aligned with the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, will facilitate the state’s trajectory toward achieving a one trillion-dollar economy. “We take pride in the fact that 1 in every 3 vaccines administered worldwide is developed or manufactured in Hyderabad,” he emphasized.
Hyderabad has positioned itself as the preferred global hub for innovative capability centres from leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The city is recognized as the Life Sciences capital of India, hosting over 2,000 companies, he added.
The Hyderabad GCC will consolidate Lilly's advanced technological capabilities across essential functions to foster accelerated innovation, heightened efficiency, and improved health outcomes for patients globally.
The facility will bolster innovation and enhance digital capabilities throughout Lilly's worldwide operations. The new centre aims to create opportunities for local talent and advance Hyderabad's biotech ecosystem.
By concentrating on domains such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, cloud computing, and software product engineering, the site will play a crucial role in addressing some of the most critical health challenges globally while simultaneously generating growth opportunities for local talent.
To date, the company has recruited 100 professionals at its 220,000 square feet Hyderabad facility, with plans to increase the workforce to 1,500 in the coming years.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a transparent, progressive, and innovation-driven environment to enable the Life Sciences industry to expand its scope and enhance health sciences capabilities worldwide.
“You are not merely living and working in Hyderabad; you are now part of our family. You are shaping the future of global healthcare from Hyderabad,” he conveyed to the Eli Lilly team.
