Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 18 (NationPress) Describing it as a significant advancement for India's manufacturing sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Wednesday that the Union Cabinet has sanctioned the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA). This ambitious program aims to establish 100 plug-and-play industrial parks throughout the nation.
The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance industrial infrastructure, attract new investments, and generate a substantial number of job opportunities while facilitating a smoother business environment via expedited approvals and a single-window approach.
In a post on X, PM Modi remarked, "This is a transformational move towards propelling India’s industrial expansion."
He reiterated that the Union Cabinet has given the green light to the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA), which is set to foster the creation of 100 plug-and-play industrial parks, significantly enhancing manufacturing, investment, and employment across the country.
"The initiative will greatly improve the ease of doing business through efficient approvals and a single-window system. It will also invigorate the logistics and services sectors," he added.
The essence of BHAVYA is to streamline the business process by simplifying regulatory frameworks and introducing efficient approval systems through robust single-window mechanisms.
This plug-and-play model will enable businesses to launch operations swiftly, supported by pre-approved land, existing infrastructure, and integrated services, thereby lowering the entry barriers for investors.
As part of this scheme, industrial parks ranging from 100 to 1,000 acres will be developed, with financial backing of up to Rs 1 crore per acre. This funding will cater to essential infrastructure such as internal roads, utilities, drainage systems, and shared facilities, alongside value-added features like factory spaces, testing laboratories, and storage facilities.
Furthermore, the plan includes social infrastructure, comprising worker accommodations and necessary amenities. Additionally, support amounting to 25% of the project expenditure will be allocated for external infrastructure to guarantee seamless connectivity.
Projects under BHAVYA will be evaluated through a competitive selection process, ensuring that only high-quality, investment-ready initiatives progress. The industrial parks will be designed as future-oriented ecosystems aligned with PM GatiShakti principles, promoting efficient multimodal connectivity and enhanced logistics.
