Las Vegas, Jan 5 (NationPress) Samsung Electronics has set its sights on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) across its entire range of products, with the ambitious goal of becoming an "AI companion" for users in their everyday activities, according to the company's announcement here.
Samsung Electronics President Roh Tae-moon emphasized, "We aim for consumers to have impactful AI experiences by incorporating the technology throughout our entire suite of products and services," during an event in Las Vegas, USA.
This announcement precedes the commencement of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, a prominent technology expo set to officially begin on Tuesday, as reported by Yonhap news agency.
"We aspire to be an AI companion in the daily lives of our customers and spearhead the widespread adoption of AI experiences," Roh stated, leading Samsung's device experience division, which encompasses mobile, television, and home appliance sectors.
In alignment with this vision, Samsung introduced the Vision AI Companion, a tailored AI platform for Samsung TVs that boasts superior conversational context comprehension compared to other models.
The new TVs slated for release in 2026 will feature the HDR10 Plus Advanced format, ensuring state-of-the-art brightness, color accuracy, and motion processing.
The company also shared its vision for a home companion, designed to alleviate users' household burdens with home appliances enhanced by advanced screens, cameras, and voice recognition technologies.
Kim Cheol-gi, head of Samsung's digital appliances division, remarked, "The extensively connected ecosystem and forms optimized for interaction through screens, cameras, and voice recognition, combined with the dependability of our products, will realize the home companion vision."
Samsung aims to incorporate AI into SmartThings, its smart-home platform, facilitating interaction among various home appliances to better cater to users' needs.
At the press event, Samsung also revealed plans to implement AI within its health application, Samsung Health, to offer a tailored and comprehensive wellness experience.
The program will collect user data on sleep patterns, nutrition, and daily activities to identify possible signs of chronic illnesses.
This application will deliver workout recommendations and suggest nutritional recipes based on ingredients available in connected refrigerators.
Additionally, the company introduced a technology capable of analyzing users' walking speeds and finger movements to identify signs of cognitive decline.
"Samsung Electronics' products, services, and AI innovations are dedicated to enhancing users' daily experiences," Roh stated. "As a global leader in technology, we strive to foster an AI ecosystem built on ethical and responsible principles, becoming a genuine AI companion in daily life."
