Key Takeaways
Lucknow, April 15 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, celebrated a milestone on Wednesday by launching the 10th lakh electric bus from the Tata Motors facility in Lucknow. He described this achievement as a pivotal moment that signifies the state’s commitment to becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse.
Tata Motors' zero-emission electric bus represents its 10 lakhth unit, produced at its expansive 600-acre plant, which has been operational since 1992.
During the event, the Chief Minister expressed his joy and pride for the state, emphasizing that this accomplishment is tied to the government's efforts to elevate Uttar Pradesh as a key player in the global manufacturing arena.
"This moment is a beacon of pride and happiness for everyone, as Tata Motors has reached the remarkable milestone of launching its 10 lakhth bus from the Lucknow plant after a remarkable journey spanning 34 years. This achievement is not just an industrial milestone but a stepping stone towards establishing India and Uttar Pradesh as leading manufacturing hubs globally," CM Yogi stated during his address.
He further remarked that this milestone showcases the forward momentum of New India and New Uttar Pradesh, which is aimed at continuous progress, ensuring development, trust, and prosperity for all citizens.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is working in alignment with PM Modi’s vision by enhancing its human resources with skills, innovation, and technology, thereby creating a workforce ready for the market and industry, thus accelerating development.
He noted that the growth trajectory in Uttar Pradesh is no longer merely statistical; it is visibly reflected on the ground.
CM Yogi recounted that nine years ago, Uttar Pradesh was grappling with an identity crisis characterized by inadequate infrastructure and security challenges, where roads and potholes were indistinguishable, deterring investors. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has transformed, establishing a robust foundation for development through improved law and order and modern infrastructure.
The Chief Minister also commended Tata Motors for evolving the 34-year-old facility into an "institute of innovation and technological expertise," while recognizing its commitment to generating job opportunities in the region.
He mentioned that with a workforce exceeding 5,600 employees, the plant has become a significant employment and skill development hub, providing opportunities to youth through the ‘Lakshya’ program.
Originally envisioned by Ratan Tata, the plant currently aids the livelihoods of approximately 6,000 families and has connected countless individuals to employment.
After the flag-off of the millionth vehicle, the Chief Minister took a ride on the newly launched Tata Motors bus, inspected the entire facility, and gathered insights into the various technologies employed in the production process.
