Mumbai, Feb 11 (NationPress) Director Sudipto Sen has addressed the ongoing dispute involving influencers Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, which arose from their public discourse on contentious and vulgar subjects.

Sen shared his apprehensions regarding the event, condemning the manner in which certain influencers have exploited their platforms to openly discuss inappropriate themes. In a special interview with IANS, the director remarked, “I recently came across events where influencers talked about vulgar issues in public. I consider this appalling and unnecessary.”

Sudipto further remarked, “The right to free speech carries a duty. India still has a significant illiterate demographic, and educated people need to be aware of their impact. Discussing these subjects publicly isn’t about being progressive—it’s about grasping societal realities.”

Comedian Sunil Pal also voiced his strong disapproval of fellow comedian Samay and podcaster Ranveer for their purported use of 'abusive language' on the show “India's Got Latent.”

“Do not label them as stand-up comedians. That would be an affront to true stand-up comedy. They are uneducated individuals who should be treated like terrorists,” Pal stated when speaking to IANS.

He continued to criticize them, saying, “Our youth are working hard to become responsible and cultured members of society from respectable backgrounds. However, these so-called comedians are given platforms where they engage in vulgarity and offensive language. The irony is that the organizers of these events are well-educated individuals. Instead of delivering meaningful messages, they are endorsing obscenity.”

During Ranveer’s latest appearance on Samay’s show, “India's Got Latent,” the podcaster posed a controversial question to a contestant regarding their parents’ intimate relationships. His remarks quickly went viral on social media, sparking significant outrage and heavy criticism from netizens.

A formal complaint has been lodged in Mumbai, Maharashtra against renowned Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija, known as 'BeerBiceps' and ‘The Rebel Kid’, along with Samay Raina for their alleged use of 'abusive language.'

In light of the controversy, Ranveer Allahbadia has extended a public apology, admitting that his remarks were “inappropriate” and “not humorous in any way.”
