Chennai, May 17 (NationPress) Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who now appears to be in exceptional shape after shedding a significant amount of weight, reveals that he committed to a rigorous workout regimen to drop the extra kilos for director Arumugakumar's highly anticipated romantic action film, Ace. He humorously confesses that he refrains from checking the number of kilos he has lost, as doing so often leads to feelings of disappointment.
The versatile actor addressed the media during a press conference organized by the film's team ahead of its release on May 23, where he was questioned about his new lean appearance.
"I exercised diligently. There were specific food items that didn’t agree with me, and I made a conscious effort to steer clear of them. I managed to avoid these foods about 70 percent of the time, but I did indulge about 30 percent of the time and ended up eating them," he said with a grin.
When inquired about the exact number of kilos he had lost and the duration it took, Sethupathi responded, "I also don’t monitor the kilos I’ve lost because seeing the numbers often depresses me. I focus on whether I can carry myself comfortably. Beyond that, I don’t check."
The actor added, "My weight fluctuates. I lost weight, then gained it back, and then lost it again. It has never been stable for me."
"I have only recently grasped certain truths. What we learn through personal experience is one thing, while scientific knowledge is another. I have learned the scientific principles of weight loss and implemented them accordingly," he elaborated.
"Science indicates that individual body requirements vary. It is crucial to consume what your body needs, and that’s exactly what I have done now," the actor explained further.
In addition to Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu, Ace will also feature Rukmini Vasanth, B.S. Avinash, Divya Pillai, Babloo, and Rajkumar in significant roles. The film is being produced on an extravagant scale by Arumugakumar under the 7Cs Entertainment banner and is being marketed as a commercial action entertainer.
The cinematography for the film is managed by Karan Bahadur Rawat, with music composed by Justin Prabhakaran and background score by Sam C.S.. Editing has been carried out by Fenny Oliver, and art direction is overseen by A.K. Muthu.
Filmed entirely in Malaysia, Ace has already attracted significant attention through its title teaser, previews, and songs, all of which have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from audiences.
Earlier this January, the film's creators released a glimpse video to celebrate Vijay Sethupathi's birthday, much to the joy of his fans.
Set to premiere globally on May 23 this year, the film has generated substantial excitement.
