Bangladesh Announces Nationwide Gas Supply Interruption Once More

Dhaka, Jan 9 (NationPress) Petrobangla (Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation) has revealed a nationwide halt in natural gas supplies to its customers for a duration of three days commencing January 10.
Petrobangla issued this statement in a press release on Thursday, indicating that one of the two liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification units in Bangladesh will undergo maintenance for 72 hours starting Friday.
As a result, LNG supply will be paused for a complete 72 hours from the FSRU, beginning from Friday at 12:00 pm (local time) until Monday at 12:00 pm (local time).
During this maintenance period, it noted that another FSRU will continue to deliver approximately 550-560 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) of gas, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
In light of this situation, the authorities mentioned that low gas pressure will be experienced in various regions of Bangladesh, as the current gas supply, around 2,700 MMcf/d, will drop to 2,500 MMcf/d during the maintenance.
This same FSRU had previously undergone maintenance for several days from January 1 to 4, which also led to a significant gas supply crisis throughout the nation.
