Sanaa, Jan 15 (NationPress) The Houthi group from Yemen announced that it struck a power facility in the southern Israeli port city of Eilat with a "winged missile".

Yahya Sarea, the military spokesperson for the Houthis, stated that the assault was successful, as reported on the Houthi-affiliated al-Masirah TV.

Furthermore, Sarea mentioned that his faction executed another offensive against Israel, targeting key locations in Tel Aviv using multiple bomb-laden drones, according to Xinhua news agency.

He declared that the group's actions against Israel will persist until Israel ceases its military operations in Gaza and lifts the blockade.

The missile assaults on the Eilat power plant and additional targets in Tel Aviv occurred shortly after the Houthis claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile strike aimed at the Israeli Defence Ministry.

Earlier reports from Israeli media indicated that the Houthi missile was intercepted by the Israeli air defense.

On Tuesday morning, Yemeni Houthi forces launched a missile towards Israel, activating sirens across extensive regions, including Tel Aviv and several Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, according to a statement from the Israeli military.

The military noted, "Multiple attempts were made to intercept the missile," adding that it was likely intercepted.

No injuries were reported from the assault, but property damage was noted. Police indicated that residences in Mevo Beitar and Tzur Hadassah, located on the outskirts of Jerusalem, sustained damages. A police image displayed a missile fragment lodged in the roof of a house.

Bomb disposal teams and extra police units are present in the vicinity to evaluate the damages and secure the area.

Since November 2023, the Houthis have been conducting missile and drone strikes against Israel and disrupting shipping linked to Israel in the Red Sea, in solidarity with Palestinians amid their ongoing conflict.
