"India is devoted to improving trade relations with Slovakia. The extensive business delegation, representing various sectors, that has accompanied me clearly indicates the eagerness of Indian enterprises to explore opportunities in Slovakia. We have noted a similar enthusiasm from Slovakia," she continued.
While addressing the forum, President Murmu expressed gratitude to Slovakia's President Peter Pellegrini for his dedication to enhancing economic relations between the two nations. She noted that India is experiencing an exceptional transformation and has become a global frontrunner in technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
President Murmu remarked that the Slovakia-India Business Forum serves as a remarkable platform to discover synergies and cultivate mutually beneficial collaborations.
Earlier, President Murmu visited an exhibition of artwork created by Slovak children. The Slovak-Indian Friendship Society, in partnership with the Indian Embassy, has been hosting the painting competition titled 'Beauty Hidden in Fairy Tales - India through the Eyes of Slovak Children' since 2015.
She also enjoyed a puppet show on the Ramayana performed by Lenka Mukova, a member of the Babadlo Puppet Theatre in Presov, which has been educating children through puppetry for three decades.
President Murmu attended a banquet in her honor hosted by Slovakia's President Pellegrini at the historic Bratislava Castle. Slovak artists delivered enchanting musical performances, including the National Anthem, underscoring the strong cultural ties between the two nations.
Expressing her appreciation to the Slovak government and its people for their warm welcome and hospitality, she noted that from yoga and Ayurveda to Indian cuisine, the affection for Indian culture in Slovakia is a testament to the robust people-to-people connections. She reaffirmed India's commitment to fortifying the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
On Wednesday, President Murmu engaged in fruitful discussions with Slovakia's President in Bratislava, where both leaders evaluated various aspects of India-Slovakia relations and agreed to collaborate on strengthening bilateral partnerships across a range of sectors.
During their one-on-one and delegation-level discussions, President Murmu and Pellegrini also addressed shared global and regional concerns. The Indian delegation included Minister of State Nimuben Bambhaniya, along with Members of Parliament Dhaval Patel, Sandhya Ray, and senior officials.
President Murmu also met with Richard Rasi, Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava, congratulating him on his recent election as Speaker while reiterating the significance India places on the historic friendship between the two nations.
"President Murmu mentioned that Parliamentarians play a crucial role in fostering goodwill and mutual understanding between India and Slovakia. She acknowledged the longstanding tradition of a Slovak-India Friendship Group in the National Council of Slovakia, which would aid in promoting knowledge and experience exchange among our Parliamentarians," stated the President's Secretariat.
This marks the first visit by an Indian President to Slovakia in nearly three decades.
The two-day visit to Slovakia highlights the significance India attributes to its bilateral relations with the Slovak Republic. It is anticipated to pave the way for deeper cooperation and new initiatives across various sectors, including defense, science and technology, and education," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reported.
