Israel Eases Gathering Restrictions in Northern Areas Following Ceasefire

Jerusalem, December 1 (NationPress) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed in a statement that they have lifted gathering restrictions across the majority of the country's northern regions.

This decision was reached after a situational review conducted by IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Previously, gathering restrictions allowed a maximum of 10, 100, 350, or 2,000 individuals in the northern areas based on proximity to the Lebanese border. This has now been revised to permit a maximum of 200 individuals in the confrontation line area along the Lebanese border and in the northern section of the annexed Golan Heights.

Meanwhile, the restriction allowing up to 2,000 individuals in the communities near the Gaza Strip in southern Israel remains unchanged.

On Thursday evening, the IDF announced that gathering restrictions in central Israel, including Tel Aviv and its suburbs, have also been lifted.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, which commenced on Wednesday, is generally holding, although there have been occasional reports of violations in border regions from both parties.
